Step back in time and be inspired for tomorrow at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Once the original estate of J. Sterling Morton -- the founder of Arbor Day in 1872, today the property is available for guests and visitors to appreciate his vision for trees.
Explore the showpiece of Arbor Lodge -- the 52-room neocolonial mansion, filled with mementos and artifacts from the notable Morton Family. Enjoy 200+ varieties of lilacs from around the globe, find vintage cars and wagons in the Carriage House and Tack Room, enjoy a picnic on the scenic grounds, and try out the Whispering Bench in Monument Square.
A park entry permit is not required. Mansion admission: $7 adults, $4 youth (ages 3-12), ages 2 and under free. Handicap accessible.
