To enhance the quality of life for all persons served by the Barnstable Fire Department. We are committed to providing the highest level of quality service. The department will strive to attain these goals through public education, training, and advocacy with enthusiasm, compassion, and pride.
The Barnstable Fire Department was formed in 1935 and services the residents and visitors of the Barnstable Fire District. The district, one of five within the town of Barnstable, is located on the north coast of the town on scenic Cape Cod Bay. We service an area of approximately fourteen square miles and a resident population of approximately 5500. The vast majority of Independence Park, the industrial area of town, is located within the district. Such companies as Cape Cod Potato Chips, Infinium Software, and Lucent Technologies call Independence Park home. Barnstable is also the seat for the County of Barnstable and is the home for three court houses and the county house of correction.
The Barnstable Fire Department operates one station, known as station 1. The station is located on scenic Route 6A in the heart of the village. This station has been under review for the past four years with the goal of providing a better facility. The current facility was designed, constructed and altered with a completely call fire department in mind. Modernization and Modification are the goals of the current building committee.
