Vision Statement
The faculty, staff, and administration at Belleview Santos Elementary have adopted the Marion County Schools' vision, "Leading the State in Raising Student Performance."

School Profile/History
Belleview-Santos Elementary School is located in a rural area of Marion County that is undergoing tremendous growth. Many teachers on staff have served their present students' parents and have strong connections with the community.
Belleview-Santos was established in 1933 to serve African-American children in K-12 grades. During the trials of integration, Belleview Santos' all black population was paired with Belleview Elementary's all white population, with Belleview-Santos serving grades 3-5. In 1973, Belleview-Santos became a K-5th grade school site, which it remains today.
The student body is composed of 811 students of which 109 are African American and 120 are Hispanic. Our free and reduced percentage is 66%.
Belleview-Santos Elementary accomplished the most academic improvement in the areas of math in the district as measured by the 2003 FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test). Our 2003 school grade rose from a "C" to an "A". We received the designation of making Adequate Yearly Progress as measured by the No Child Left Behind Act. Belleview-Santos has successfully implemented the Integrated Thematic Instruction model for the Comprehensive School Reform Grant. The Florida Department of Education awarded our school the classification of a Five Star School in 2003. The school did not make AYP for 2004/2005 with regard to our ESE students and 4 th grade Writing Scores. Our School Plan for 2005/2006 reflects the desire of the entire staff to remediate these areas and enhance instruction for all of our students so that we can see growth in our students performing at Level 4 and 5.
