For over 100 years the First Baptist Church of Bethlehem has been "A Church for Christ in the Christmas CIty".  What does this mean?
It has meant many things over the years.  As the city has grown and adapted, First Baptist Church has grown and adapted to try and meet the changing needs of the community.  FIfty years ago a need was seen within the Spanish-speaking community in Bethlehem.  This led to the establishment of a "Spanish Department" within the church.   More recently FBC has opened its doors to the Open Door Church of The Deaf, provided support for an association of home-schooling parents, operated a nursery school with after-hours care, provided a Sunday School program for challenged individuals, and established The Christian Singles Network which now ministers to over 100 single individuals seeking Christian fellowship within the Lehigh Valley.
All of these ministries, just a small part of the total ministry of the church, are examples of the way the church tries to accept people where they are, and the way they are, and work with them to enhance their walk with Christ.
