Big Sandy Fire Protection District
About Us
In November of 2005 voters finalized a vote on The Big Sandy Fire District Initiative authorizing the formation of a fire district. Being in a part of the country that typically responds to increases in taxes with an unequivocal "NO", we are fortunate enough to have neighbors that understood the challenges that the fire department faced through an entirely donation-based model. We sincerely thank all those that took the time to research the issue and then cast their votes in favor of the initiative. Your support, as always, is appreciated and we look forward to serving as the Big Sandy Fire Protection District!
The department feels that this initiative benefits the community we serve in so many ways, and we are very excited about the future. The BSFD has a very invested and knowledgeable Board of Directors that will always put the community's fire and medical protection interests first.
