In the early 1970s, our family decided to cut some of our Colorado blue spruce and Douglas fir to sell as Christmas trees... so, we put our best trees out on the front lawn of our farmhouse, and well, the rest as they say is history! We’ve been selling Christmas trees to families across the Northeast ever since that day, and we love seeing the same families - and new ones - visit year after year for our quality trees and good ol' fashioned family fun.

We grow our award-winning Christmas trees at both of our cut-your-own-farms: Bilmar Nurseries and Fabulous Firs. We put tremendous time and effort into the maintenance and growing of our trees. We feed them to ensure proper growth and color; we mow the grass around the trees to provide the best environment for growth and strength; we sheer them during the summer months to encourage a beautiful, even shape; and if Mother Nature doesn’t provide the rain, we irrigate to keep our trees healthy and hydrated.  We do all of this so that your family takes home the most memorable, quality tree possible!

Over the years, our hard work and dedication to growing and offering the Northeast's premium Christmas trees has been very rewarding. We have earned numerous First place ribbons, as well as the top title of Best in Show, many times from the Dutchess County Fair including 2010 and 2011.  Along with five 1st place ribbons and the title of 2016 Grand Champion at the New York State Fair, Bilmar Nurseries has previously earned 50 1st place ribbons as well as the title of Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion a total of six times in the last seven years that they have entered.
