Bonita Country Day School is an independent, nondenominational, nonprofit, coeducational elementary school established to provide students with a superior education in a culturally diverse, family-oriented environment. The school was founded in 1986 by Headmaster Paul Catanzaro and Principal Suzanne Catanzaro as an alternative to public education. Bonita Country Day School offers small classes of about 15 students and encourages students to take an active part in classroom instruction. Bonita Country Day School serves 120 children from preschool through fifth grade.
Students develop skills to succeed in a safe, positive environment in which students are respected as unique individuals and are challenged to achieve their full potential. The faculty and staff guide students in the development of necessary character traits which give each student a sense of self-worth. Bonita Country Day School emphasizes teaching students "how to think, not what to think." This emphasis enables students to be successful not only in the classroom, but throughout life.
