The Boots & Slippers Square Dance Club was formed in Simi Valley, California in 1959. We are a very active Plus level club that holds a Plus level club dance on the 4th Saturday of every month except December. Our new dancer classes start on the 2nd Monday in September and go through the 1st week in June. To encourage new dancers we hold class level "Fun" dances on the 1st Saturday of each month from November through June. Our specialty dances include our Anniversary dance each August with Deborah Carroll-Jones calling, our Guide Dogs of America benefit dance, with Dick Hodnefield and guest callers, held the first Saturday in June and our New Years Eve dance which is as much of an event as it is a dance. During the summer we hold our Over-The-Hill-Gang sessions which is an advanced plus and DBD workshop with Dick Hodnefield calling.
