About Us
BOTM was established in Gainesville in 1987, and has worked tirelessly to get food to the plates of the hungry and food insecure. During FY 2008-09 BOTM distributed 2,234,346 pounds of food.
Food is distributed primarily through other non-profit groups and churches who in turn provide the food to individuals free of charge. To become a network agency, please call and ask for Tyrone, our Agency Specialist.
Food is received from individuals like you, retailers, wholesalers, groups conducting food drives, and the USDA TEFAP.
Bread of the Mighty is a Partnering Distribution Agency (PDO) of Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic, hunger-relief charity.
Bread of the Mighty is an active member of the Florida Association of Food Banks (FAFB). FAFB represents the only regulated and monitored network of food banks that covers all 67 Florida counties. FAFB is affiliated with Feeding America the nation's leading hunger-relief organization.
