About Us:
The Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1972 to better assist businesses interested in locating to the area. At that time, the population of Breaux Bridge was approximately 4,000, and the main industries were sugar, rice, and soybean. With the construction of Interstate 10 in 1973, the City of Breaux Bridge became the center of commerce, with unprecedented access to surrounding parishes and metropolitan areas.
Today, Breaux Bridge has a population of approximately 8,400 and is the fastest growing city in St. Martin Parish, with an overall increase of 16% from 2000 to 2010. With growth and development came a new hospital, a public and private school system, a number of religious, fraternal, social, and civic clubs, and facilities for cultural, recreational, and social activities. Evidence of this prosperity are the many real estate and commercial developments underway, as well as, an increase in financial institutions locating to the city.
Through it all, the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce has maintained its dedication to the betterment and improvement of the area business community. We are here to show you why Breaux Bridge is a great place to live, work, and raise a family!
