Butterfield Trail Cowboys

US Highway 65, #759
417-443-3093

The Club was formed in 2012 by several cowboys and cowgirls interested in the sport who pooled their money, time and talents to get started. With the additional help of two other shooting clubs, Powder Creek Cowboys, Lenexa, KS and Ozark Shooters Sports Complex, we had our inaugural shoot March 24 and 25th.

Owing our Club namesake to Cowboy legend and lore, the Butterfield Trail Mail Route would pass through Springfield and Greene County. The first outward bound stage made its scheduled stop on Springfield's public square on September 17, 1858. The event was celebrated that evening with fireworks and general revelry. The eastbound stage arrived the next month on October 22. The Butterfield Overland Mail Company Station at the Ray House had a tragic front row seat during the Civil War battle of Wilson's Creek. We invite you to strap on a pair of six guns, grab your rifle and shotgun and help us defend and protect the true "Cowboy" spirit, or just come and watch.

Our primary goal is safety; first, last and always. We believe all participants should have a great time while they are here. So if you're looking for one heck of a good shooting club and friendly folks, come on out and join us.
