Cali Calmécac Charter School is an award winning, nationally recognized, Two Way Language Immersion School for students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Students from throughout the Windsor Unified School District and beyond are eligible to attend if they begin in kindergarten or first grade. Our enrollment of 930 students comprises of 50% of the students from Spanish speaking homes and 50% of the students from homes where English is the dominant language. The school offers a positive social and academic environment with the advantage of native speakers of both languages that enhances cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. All students have the opportunity to have academic success and become proficient in two languages to better meet the challenges of their future in a global society. Students learn to understand, speak, read and write Spanish and English from highly qualified bilingual teachers. Both languages are used for instruction at different periods of the day in content areas such as science or math.
