California Arts Academy offers joyful instruction in the performing arts with world-class teachers - right here in Fresno! Private and group lessons are available, for ages 18 months to adult. Classes and summer camps include acting, ballet, jazz, contemporary/modern, tap, Irish step, bellydance, gymnastics, music, voice, art, and more! Classes are offered year-round in semesters: Spring (19 weeks), Summer (8 weeks), and Fall (19 weeks). Spring Semester classes culminate in a Spring Presentation at the semester's conclusion. Every other year, selected classes participate in the Story Ballet, a fully-staged ballet production presented at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Fresno. We also have a wonderful musical theater program. Students ages 5-teen may participate in full-length musical productions every semester.
CAA is the home of the Severance Ballet Conservatory (over 50 years of classical ballet in Fresno) and the Cal Arts Academy Open Program (a 36 year tradition of ballet and contemporary dance). Carla Stallings-Lippert, director of the Severance Ballet Conservatory, provides pre-professional training and is the only Ballet Teacher in the Central Valley certified in American Ballet Theatre's National Training Curriculum.
CAA is also home of the Artists' Repertory Theatre, and is an official venue for Art Hop and the Rogue Performance Festival. Throughout the year, we host plays & musicals, dance concerts, event receptions, & birthday parties. We also partner with other organizations in the community, including Woodward Shakespeare Festival, Fresno Folklore Society, StageWorks Fresno, Fresno Dance Collective, and more.
