This "little golf course on the prairie" is a 140-acre member-owned course in the southeast corner of Kansas. Located 2 miles north of Caney on U.S. 75, 1/2 mile east on County Road 2000, walk-ons are welcome and new members embraced.
With wide tree-lined fairways and closely shorn rough, the Caney Golf Club is renowned in the area for one simple feature: all nine bent-grass greens brandish a dome-like design.
Designed to be played as a pair of separate 9-hole loops, the entire 18-hole route plays at 6,202 yards as a par-71 for men; 5,338 yards as a par 71 for women. The front nine, with two par 3s and two par 5s, stands at 3,098 yards and is a par-36 from the red tees. From the blue tees, the back nine is a par-35 at 3,104 yard adventure with a single par 5 and two par 3s.
