Canterbury Elementary School is part of the Shaker Regional School District. We are located to the east of Canterbury Center on Baptist Road. Our school can easily be reached from Interstate 93 or State Route 106 and following the well-marked roads to Canterbury Center. The school is comprised of 146 students in Kindergarten through Grade Five. The community population has remained fairly constant, though some growth is taking place. Class sizes are small to average. The majority of teachers at CES hold masters degrees and there is very little personnel turnover.

A very supportive Town and Parent Teacher's Organization have provided many enrichment activities, i.e. artist residency programs, Circus Smurkus, Cross Country Ski and nature trails. Our school can boast of "something for everyone". We enjoy a good mix of sports, art, music and community involvement. We have also been proud of our results in NH State Academic Assessments.

After a good beginning at Canterbury Elementary School, our students have gone on to succeed at Belmont High School.
