Capella Farm
We grow organically and distribute veggies, flowers and herbs from the farm. Located just 7 miles west of Ann Arbor on Scio Church Road, about half way between Zeeb and Parker, we are close to Ann Arbor and surrounding communities. Our members enjoy visiting our farm.
We started our organic garden here 8 years ago. We have always raised our own veggies and started our CSA in 2009 with great success. We are committed to non-GMO food. We focus on companion planting, beneficial insects, and the minimization of harmful fungi through proper growing methods. i.e. we rarely spray even organically-approved pesticides/fungicides. We raise vegetables and a limited number of Boer goats (meat goats), heritage and standard breed turkeys and free-range chickens. We sell eggs but do not sell chickens for meat. All of the animals are fed organic, locally-grown feed. Our goal is to grow and raise food that's good for us in a way that's also good for the land.
Our summer CSA distribution includes 20 weeks of produce, flowers and herbs from the beginning of June through the 2nd or 3rd week of October. A fall CSA will be offered for approx 8 weeks and will include a holiday box. That includes a nice amount of fall veggies which you can use or store for months. We now have 2 hoop houses and have begun to grow year-round. The hoops also allow us to start some warm-weather veggies a bit sooner than if they were solely field-grown. We grow a large variety of veggies, including heirloom varieties. We follow organic growing practices and do not purchase GMO seed. Please check out our website for more information. Thanks & we look forward to meeting you.
We are now accepting new members for our summer CSA. Also, if you'd like to sign up for the fall CSA, we can add you to the list. The spring CSA is sold out.
