The Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities was formed in 1974 by a small, dedicated group of residents who wanted to promote the arts and artists in the Carbondale Community, and we’re still doing that. The impact that we have and continue to make on the community is significant. We are committed to funding and supporting artistic expression. We provide a venue for professional as well as emerging artists with little or no cost to the artists through our Valley Visual Art Show and our monthly gallery openings. Mountain Fair, our Summer of Music performances and all of our art openings are free to the public. In addition, in the last thirty years we have awarded over $190,000 in scholarships and grants to graduating seniors and adult artists. We’re proud of what we’ve done, what we’re doing and where we’re going.
