CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of NH
CASA volunteers are trained citizens appointed as the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in a child abuse or neglect case by a district or family court judge. CASA volunteers gather information on their case, visits their children monthly, and advocate until a safe, permanent home is achieved.
CASA of NH is in particular need of volunteers for the Claremont, Newport and Lebanon Family Courts. While CASA of NH can take 80% of the appointed cases statewide, the lack of volunteers in Grafton and Sullivan counties only allows the organization to take 30-60% of appointed cases.
