The CASTLO Community Improvement Corporation is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 for the purpose of attracting industry and prospective employers to the region. We manage the CASTLO Industrial Park and actively work to promote other nearby industrial sites, such as the 1,470-acre Mahoning River Corridor Initiative. The CASTLO Industrial Park is situated on 120 acres in downtown Struthers, Ohio. Nearly $5,000,000 was invested to transform the site of the former Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company's Struthers Works into a thriving campus-like industrial park.Several of the Park's 11 buildings have been renovated to accommodate virtually any enterprise, and land is available for new construction. CASTLO's buildings could not be duplicated in a new industrial park today.Handsome brick facades have been restored to their original beauty and stature and retrofitted with the best modern materials and design. They provide good, workable space from 4,500 to 62,000 square feet. These buildings are attractive, functional and easily adaptable. In addition to its buildings, the CASTLO Industrial Park includes short-line rail service, a modern road system, all utility services, street lighting, fencing, signage and complete landscaping. The Park has the look and feel of a college campus. The park is served by the Genesee & Wyoming Railroad which has a direct connection to both the CSXT Transportation and the Norfolk & Southern railroad systems.
