This is a new venture for 2010. We are starting small and my son, Jared is running the CSA. We have had a successful garden and are expanding it for the CSA. Standard vegetables and some berries will be included. Each half share feeds 2 people with a dozen eggs included weekly and lamb three times during the season (ground, shanks or ribs). Our lamb and chickens are pasture-raised. We don't use any chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. Vegetables we hope to have include: asparagus, beans, beets, carrots, cabbage, salad greens, romaine, turnips, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatillos, spinach, butternut squash, zucchini, spaghetti squash, peas, cucumbers, cauliflower, radishes, swiss chard, melons, okra, herbs, berries, rhubarb.
We are a small family farm dedicated to raising Icelandic sheep as naturally as possible. We believe in nurturing the land by intensive grazing and rotation. The meat lambs are raised on grass/hay alone and with a custom mineral mix stay very healthy. We deworm only when needed, not on a set schedule. The Icelandic meat is very mild and many who don't love lamb enjoy it. We also sell registered breeding stock, fleeces, roving, handspun yarn and wool craft items. We occasionally have litters of English angora rabbits and sell the fiber as well. Grass-fed eggs are available on a limited basis. Lamb cuts now available on the farm.
