In 1881 Andrea Sbarboro founded the Asti Winery in northern Sonoma County. Cellar No. 8 makes its wines at the Asti Winery and now has a tasting room there too. Long time winemaker Paul Rydquist is at the helm.Cellar No. 8 wines are made from grapes grown in California's North Coast appellation, which consists of coastal and inland valleys and hillsides in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties. Cellar No. 8 wines highlight the classic flavors of each varietal, and deliver rich, robust flavors that are enhanced by 100 percent oak barrel aging." It produces heritage varieties: Petite Sirah, Grenache, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese.
