Our History is HIS Story. It's
the story of the power and faithfulness of God working through His people.
CentralBaptistChurch
was constituted on October 6, 1939.
The first meeting was held in the Luling High School Gym. Central's first
pastor was Brother V.M. Hailey. By October 29, the charter membership was
355.
Our present site was purchased
from the San Antonio and Aransas
Pass Railroad Company. Ground was broken on March 19, 1940. Used "sucker rods" from Luling's oil
fields were used throughout the construction as building steel. All excavating
of earth for the foundation was done by volunteer manual labor without the use
of any heavy equipment.
Through the years, CentralBaptistChurch
has worked to be a spiritual, unified, and missionary people. Our history is
marked with courage, foresight, hard work, and sacrifice. It is a wonderful
story of progress and a labor of love.
The future holds a greater
challenge for CentralBaptistChurch to reach the unsaved and to
grow in spiritual depth and outreach.
Our prayer is that the Lord will
continue to keep CentralBaptistChurch a church of faith and vision.
