The Central New York Teaching Center is one of more than 131 Teacher Resource and Computer Training Centers created in 1984 by the New York State Legislature and funded through the New York State Education Department.

Teacher Centers provide educators with the sites and resources for systematic, ongoing professional development. The CNYTC works collaboratively with area educators, school districts, parents, local businesses, community members and higher education to enhance professional growth.

Through this Center innovative approaches to teaching are shared, current educational issues are studied, and research about educational practices is disseminated. Providing a forum to share ideas and serving as a resource bank is the foundation that guides the operation of the CNYTC.
