Chicago Kickers Soccer Club

259 West Grand Avenue

The Chicago Kickers Soccer Club is a non-for-profit organization, which is dedicated to promoting the game of soccer for both youth and adults of both genders. Our primary focus is to educate and stimulate interest in soccer with the youth of our area, while maintaining quality men and women teams. For 68 years, The Chicago Kickers have offered quality soccer programs for both youths and adults of either gender to advance their skills and enjoy competitive soccer.

Rich in tradition, The Chicago Kickers have had many soccer achievements over the past 68 years. Our teams have won League, State, and National Amateur Championships. Along with Team recognition, many of our players have received college scholarships and some even have gone on to professional careers in soccer. Some of our most notable players that have worn the Kickers’ red and white include Frank Klopas, Brian McBride, Dave Dir, Mark Simpson, and Tommy Soehn. Recently one of our all time greatest players, Adolf Bachmeier, who captained the United States National team in 1970 was inducted in United States Soccer Hall of Fame.

Although we are proud of our past, we look towards the future in further enhancing our club. With this in mind we have become partners with the American Aid Society (a non-for profit German Cultural Center located in Lake Villa, Illinois). With the help of American Aid Society we have built two Championship Soccer Fields that will be opened in the fall of 2005, along with a new clubhouse where we hold our monthly meetings. We have also revitalized our youth program with the help of one of our long time members, Tommy Soehn (former MLS player and present head assistant coach with DC United) who has taken on the Club Director position for the club. We currently have a number of youth teams of both genders that play in the Young Sportsmen's Soccer League, Illinois Women's Soccer League, and Metropolitan Soccer League. What puts us in the forefront of youth soccer is that our teams are coached by experienced players and trained by Chicago Fire Players and Coaches. We feel that the training and coaching that the Chicago Kickers and Fire Players provide is of the highest quality, and cannot be matched by most other soccer clubs. In the spring we hold tryouts for boys and girls U-8 through U-14 teams, along with Girls High School teams. In the fall we hold tryouts for our High School Boys teams. We are continually looking to expand our youth program and we are looking forward to fielding more teams in the future.

Even though our primary focus is soccer, The Chicago Kickers are much more than just a soccer club. Families started the Chicago Kickers and we continue to truly value the importance of the family in our club. We take pride in creating a family atmosphere and we have many events during the year that every member of a player’s family can take part in. We host a Golf Outing, Awards Night, Venison Dinner, Christmas Party, Oktoberfests, and a Picnic.
