Where All are Welcomed and Fed at the Table
This is our mission as a congregation. We strive to be a place where ALL people can feel welcomed and included in the life of this faith community. We live in a world where a growing number of groups and organizations seem to be defining themselves in terms of what they are against and who is excluded. That is not what Episcopalians believe. For us our faith is embodied in inclusiveness. Our heritage has always sought a wide diversity of voices and opinions within our common life of faith. We follow a Lord who sat at table with tax collectors, sinners and righteous people alike. We follow a Lord who declared love of God and love of neighbor as being the greatest of all the commandments.
So we invite you to be our guest at Christ Episcopal Church. With God's help, we are working hard to be a place where stranger and friend alike may know hospitality, acceptance, reconciliation, healing, forgiveness and the joy of God's love. It has been said that a church exists not for its established members but instead for the stranger. If you are looking for the experience of a community where you are welcomed and affirmed, we invite you to be our guest at Christ Episcopal Church – where all are welcomed and all are fed at the table. We are the church with the red doors at the corner of Fountain and Washington Streets. We sincerely hope that you will be our guest and find your place at God's Table!
