Mission Statement
The mission of Auburn City Government is to enhance the quality of life for the
citizens of Auburn by providing services of the highest quality that are both
efficient and cost effective. The planning and delivery of services and projects
will be professionally managed, and growth opportunities will be evaluated and
implemented based on their compatibility with existing or planned
infrastructure.
The fulfillment of the mission will be achieved through the pursuit of the
following strategic objectives:
To involve the taxpayers and ratepayers in the organization, planning, and
implementation of projects in the City.
To efficiently and effectively manage the services of the City for the benefit
of both the taxpayer and ratepayer.
To seize and develop opportunities for diversified and planned economic
development to complement existing retail and industrial businesses.
To effectively plan and coordinate proposed projects to insure they meet the
following criteria:
To improve municipal operating efficiency.
To reduce operating costs.
To serve the taxpayers and ratepayers.
To promote safety.
To promote teamwork.
To retain the quality of the City of Auburn.
Upon completion of service, to leave the City with better systems and management
techniques in place, to have restored a high level of pride among citizens and
City employees, and to have greatly improved the image of Auburn.
