About Us
Hartland is a wonderful small town to live in; the people are friendly and eager to meet visitors when they come to town. Hartland, a "small town with a big heart" is located 15 miles northwest of Albert Lea, and 6 miles 1920 Hotel
south of New Richland.
The first postmaster's wife, Mrs. O. Sheldon, named Hartland for a small town on the Connecticut River in Windsor County, Vermont. The city became incorporated in 1893 and started the fire department in 1894, which is still going today.
Since Hartland is a farming community, you will find a lot of farmers and townspeople up early having breakfast or coffee at Hartland's only restaurant The Village Inn.
Hartland is home to two agricultural businesses also, Hi Yield and L&D Ag Services. HiYield supplies both residential and agricultural propane along with farming chemicals. While L&D Ag Services is a manufacturer of industrial and agricultural sprayers and fertilizer equipment, such as lawn sprayers, ATV sprayers and tractor sprayers. They also manufacture and sell Precision Ag Tech which are yield monitors and GPS equipment installed in farm tractors.
Hartland also has a service garage, Pete's Service Center that will do minor car repairs and oil changes. Need your hair done, Dimensions Salon and Tanning is there for all your hair needs. Thinking of starting that flower or vegetable garden. Stop by the Hartland Greenhouse and buy some vegetable plants or they have a variety of flowers to choose from to beautify your yard.
