History:
Founded in 1795, Montgomery was known for generations as a stopping point along the old "3-C" Highway (Cincinnati-Columbus-Cleveland). It is home to wonderfully quaint old buildings that are a reminder of a quieter, slower time in our community. The City's downtown Heritage District consists of over 120 unique shops, services and dining establishments that are surrounded by historic landmark properties, classically designed streetlamps and brick walkways, and a general ambiance of days gone by. The community has 33 properties that have been designated as Montgomery Landmarks, eight of which are on the National Register for Historic Places.
Today's Montgomery is an integral part of the Cincinnati Metropolitan area and features beautiful neighborhoods, excellent community parks , top-quality services, and a nationally recognized school system. Montgomery also values its diverse business community that provides services and retail opportunities to residents and visitors alike. A variety of religious institutions and active community and civic organizations also provide opportunities and services to our citizens.
