Brookfield, IL - Community Support Services (CSS), Inc., a leading service agency for people with

intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD,) announced that families may be eligible for individual and group services that are funded through a family's township. This means services may be FREE to them.  Diagnoses that would quality a child for the program include Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy or mental retardation. Children need to be age three or older.

CSS, is one of the largest respite agencies in the state of Illinois that consistently receives a 95% satisfaction rating among its families. Specifically, families may are eligible for:

·         Individual Respite - which gives parents time to themselves, and provides one-on-one, enriching experiences for children at home or in the community. Respite is proven to reduce stress and help keep families together.

·         Group Respite -- activities include art, fitness and fun social activities tailored for children and adults.

·         Supported Employment -- designed for adults who are interested in working in the community.  CSS has helped countless individuals find their first job, which brings independence and pride.

These services are funded by generous grants provided to CSS through local township and village Mental Health Board grants.
