Mission Statement :

The Contra Costa Wind Symphony (CCWS) Mission is to provide an uplifting, aesthetic musical experience to both its volunteer members and its audience. Quality, live performances fulfill this mission. Regular concerts are held in a professional venue in the heart of Walnut Creek – the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts.

CCWS programs include both standard literature and new works by some of today’s most gifted composers. In addition to traditional band music, its repertoire includes modern classical compositions and symphonies by some of the world’s finest composers of outstanding literature for winds and percussion.

Audience experience is enhanced by offering background information on upcoming performances through the CCWS website. Frequent inclusion of companion art forms adds to performances.

Taken together, these steps demonstrate the highest capabilities of a first-class, 21st Century symphonic band.
