The Cibolo-Schertz-Converse Lions Club (CSC Lions Club) was organized on March 11, 1949 by Lion J. C. Welch. It was sponsored by the Seguin Lions Club and chartered on April 25, 1949 with 35 paid members and 5 reinstated members. The charter meeting was held at the Outpost (just outside of Randolph Field) at 7:45 pm on Monday April 25, 1949. The Charter President was Lion John Sipple and Lion C. T. Shelton was the Charter Secretary.
Cibolo-Schertz-Converse Lions Club was renamed to the Converse Lions Club in April of 1963 for several reasons. Texas was redistricted in 1959, and this split the area at Cibolo Creek. The cities of Cibolo, Schertz, and Universal city had grown large enough to support their own clubs. It was determined that the Charter date and historical record of CSC Lions Club would be retained by the Converse Lions Club. Lion H. R. Voges became President of the Converse Lions Club and Lion Eddie Zimmermann was the Secretary/Treasurer.
