Cracker Box Palace is a not for profit organization that serves as the large animal shelter for Wayne County, NY located in Alton, a small hamlet of Sodus, overlooking beautiful Sodus Bay providing a rescue for over 300 farm type animals including horses, cattle, alpaca, goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, rabbits, poultry and water fowl, that have been abandoned, abused or their owners can no longer care for them.  CBP recently raised the funding to own it's home located at historic Alasa Farms, a 600 plus acre Shaker Farm complete with farm land with row crops and apple and peach trees, trails and forests, historic buildings that are in the process of being rehabbed and plenty of animals to visit.  We welcome visitors all year round, Upick apples in the fall, trail hiking and horse back riding trails, events and fundraisers and many community services.
