History:

Crusader Martial Arts was originally started by Master Michael Viola Vu Ho. The studio was then handed down to Master Tyrone Talbert. In 1992 Master Bill Church was looking for a martial arts studio to take his son to who was being picked on at school. However, he did not want any of the typical middle eastern philosophies that are taught at many schools. Crusader Martial Arts was what he was looking for: traditional Tang Soo Do being taught in a Christian light and giving glory to our Christ and Savior though the studio. Master Church started with his son and eventually took over the studio from Master Talbert.

In October 2008 at the Gospel Martial Arts Union Meeting of the Masters in Indianapolis Indiana, Master Church was granted "foundership" for a new Korean style called Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan. Translated it is the Church school of Tang Soo Do. "Church" being a word play on the words "Christian" and Master Church's last name.

This rare honor of "foundership" provides worldwide recognition for our style and our school. No one can take this away, copy, or doubt our authority or standing in Tang Soo Do. We have successors and guidance so that Tang Soo Do Kyohoe Kwan will continue through history even after Master Church is gone.
