About Darby Township Elementary School:
Darby Township Elementary School is composed of grades K–4. There are 330 diverse and talented students and 40 teachers and staff members. Our teachers are dedicated and competent veterans who make our students their priority. Add to this an exceptional support staff and you have a wonderful place for a foundation for learning.
Our exceptional support staff helps to round out the child in the areas of art, music and physical education. Remediation and enrichment is provided through our Title I teachers in the area of reading. Our learning support teachers supply instruction for children with special learning needs. Our support professionals work in each classroom and augment the classroom teachers’ instruction with their own expertise. We have a librarian who oversees a library with 7000 volumes for our students and our guidance counselor, psychologist, and nurse address social, emotional and physical needs of our children. In addition, there are support personnel in the areas of occupational therapy, physical therapy and English as a second language.
