The Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) was founded in 1997 through a creative partnership between Pratt Institute in New York and the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. It is the only two-year college of art and design in the United States, and it is Delaware's first and only school of art and design. DCAD offers associate of fine arts degrees in 15 study tracks within six majors (animation, fine arts, graphic design, photography, illustration and interior design). Students who successfully complete their degrees can transfer as juniors to Pratt, the Corcoran or one of many other fine art and design schools. DCAD also offers a one-year co-op program, internships, certificate programs, continuing education classes and a Young Artists program. Student, faculty and visiting exhibitions are shown on campus throughout the year.
