We love Leonia, which is an oasis under siege by rising taxes, dense development in neighboring communities, and the uncertainty of how light rail service will impact our community. Making matters worse, Leonians haven't had access to a functional, accurate, and informative website for over two years, and the current administration is in no hurry to fix this situation. Nor have they been transparent about pressing issues that require input from the public issues that will affect all Leonians for years to come. Instead of acting as elected officials who represent the public, this Mayor and Council, in the minds of many, is a hand-selected clique that makes decisions behind closed doors. We must change this.
