NEW CHAPTER STARTING
DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS AUXILIARY
UNIT 106
WHAT WE ARE- We are the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. DAVA is a non profit group founded in 1922 by women who saw a need for assistance to the families, widows, orphans of disabled vets AND the Vets themselves. Not funded by the
WHO CAN BE INVOLVED- Spouse, surviving spouse, parent, sibling, children, grandparent, grandchild and great grandchildren of veterans who were disabled (any rating) or died in military service. From the Korean War Vets to our current Iraqi Vets are served.
WHY BE INVOLVED- This is YOUR chance to take care of our own. I know we all have busy lives and this chapter will be structured as such. There is not much of time commitment and we serve our local Denton County Veterans and families. Have you ever wondered after watching the news "Gee, I wish I knew how to help these soldiers". This is your chance! It's also a great way to form a bond with women from similar backgrounds who genuinely love their country and the soldiers that protect and defend it.
HISTORY- The Denton Chapter 106 for the DAV has been around for more than 50 years. The newly formed Auxiliary will be starting in May of 2010.
