Our faculty and staff provide a challenging curriculum, a warm and supportive learning environment, and many enriching experiences for all our students. Many unique and rewarding field trips in all grade levels enhance the topics and experiences learned in the classroom. Also, Dover Elementary School’s dynamic interdisciplinary and differentiated teaching approach encourages and produces many fine projects. The special area subjects offer wonderful experiences for our students. Our innovative programs in Physical Education, Art, and Music challenge students to explore their various interests and abilities. Our foreign language program, new this year, provides rudimentary instruction in Spanish and French to all three grade levels. The Library program teaches a rich literature program, as well as research and library skills.
Student achievement is rewarded in several ways. Each quarter, superior academic accomplishments earn Honor Roll and Principal’s List status, and these students are recognized at an Awards Breakfast. We acknowledge students for their outstanding citizenship by “Student of the Month” honors for each class every month. Many other recognition awards are celebrated as situations arise.
At Dover Elementary we are committed to a strong character education program, and enjoy countless projects and events relating to many varied cultures, ethnic experiences, holiday celebrations, and global awareness. We encourage students to explore the fascinating and diverse world they live in and learning about all the people who share our earth.
The very active and supportive PTSA contributes to the great environment that is Dover Elementary. The PTSA provides funding for many projects and events, such as assembly programs, building decorating projects, and matching funding to help us secure grants for worthy purposes. This loyal organization conducts a highly successful Book Fair each year.
