East Cape Baptist Church
History:
In the fall of 1977, Brother Verlee Eaker was on his way to the hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to visit a sick brother (in Christ). As he drove through East Cape, Illinois, he thought to himself, “There’s getting to be a lot of families in this little town and not one church here.”
Brother Verlee decided to try to do something about planting a church in East Cape. With God’s help and the Thebes Baptist Church as the mother church, and a great dedicated, enthusiastic missionary team, and a lot of canvassing, walking from door to door, East Cape Baptist Church evolved from a dream to reality.
