Our Vision:
East Whittier Friends Church has been called of God to lives of discipleship, centered in Jesus Christ, grounded in God's Word, and filled with God's Spirit.
Our Passion:
Being convinced we are called by God to live lives of discipleship and desiring to be obedient to Him, by the power of His Holy Spirit, our passion is to become and help others become intimate friends and devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Our Purpose:
We believe that God calls us to the following five Biblical purposes as Christ's disciples:
- Evangelize the lost.
- Worship God in spirit and truth.
- Grow Spiritually.
- Care for one another.
- Equip one another for ministry.
Believe:
- We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His sacrifice for us through death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He is our advocate and in His personal future return to reign forever.
- We believe the Bible is the fully inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
- We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentence and faith in the shed blood of Christ.
- We believe that salvation can be obtained only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
- We believe the church is the "Body of Christ" and Friends are part of this Body which includes many denominations. Any individual can become a part of the Body of Christ by acknowledging the fact of sin in their life, repenting of that sin, and through faith placing their trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
