Kansas City BBQ Society State BBQ Championship to be held in Downtown Effingham Illinois July 24^th and 25^th, 2015

The date has been set!  Come out and enjoy some award winning barbeque, live music, local vendors, wine and beer tasting and help support the Chamber Foundation Community Scholarship Program.  This event will take place rain or shine in Downtown Effingham, IL around the old courthouse lawn.

Festivities begin Friday, July 24^th with a Hometown Throw-Down Local BBQ competition with public tastings beginning at 5:30pm (while supplies last).  If you think your BBQ is the best, visit the website below and sign-up your Team Today!  There will also be a wine and beer tasting tent open from 5:00pm-10:00pm.  Live music by Kilborn Alley Blues Band 6-8pm and CeCe & the Bandits 8-10pm.

The fun continues Saturday, July 25^th with the Farmer's Market from 8am- Noon, the Courthouse Museum will also be open from 10am-2pm.  And for the kids there will be a Kid's Power Wheels Demo Derby from 1-2pm, a DQ eating contest at 2pm along with inflatables and other fun activities.  There is also a Cornhole tournament scheduled to begin at 1pm, and live music all afternoon featuring the FACE Orchestra at noon, Stewardson-Strasburg High School Band at 1pm, Teutopolis High School Jazz Band at 1:30pm, with Garrett Biggs wrapping up the afternoon with music from 2-5pm.

Then the BIG EVENT, "The Official BBQ Cook-off" a Kansas City BBQ Society Sanctioned Event from 12-2pm with awards being announced at 5:00pm.  Total Prize Purse near $6,000!  Food, Drinks, Music and BBQ!  Come out and support the Chamber Foundation Community Scholarship Program!
