Elizabeth Lane Elementary School opened its doors in 1996 on the outskirts of Matthews, NC. Our school is unique in design and features an enclosed courtyard and large modern classrooms. Approximately 900 students representing over 30 different nationalities attend Elizabeth Lane. An experienced administrative staff leads quality teachers, educational specialists and support staff to form a well-orchestrated educational team for all students.

An exceptional, computerized media center is available for research and instruction. Over 180+ fully networked computers in classrooms and the computer lab encourage technology to be integrated into the K-5 curriculum.

Elizabeth Lane has developed a statewide reputation for excellence by reaching and exceeding its academic goals. Most recently Elizabeth Lane was named an Honor School of Excellence for academic success shown in high-test scores on state tests and meeting goals established by No Child Left Behind.

At Elizabeth Lane we are very proud of the many parent and community volunteers who work diligently to support the educational program. High expectations for student achievement and support through parent involvement result in academic success for all students.
