History :
Elkhart Consolidated Grade School District Number 264 was authorized by special election in 1946.
Currently, Elkhart Grade School (2000) is a K-8 building that feeds into Mt. Pulaski C.U.S.D. #23. The current building principal is Scott E. Doerr, who oversees a faculty of 10 teachers, 8 district-wide teachers and 4 support staff members. Please note that Mr. Douglas Hawkins retired at that end of the 2002-2003 school year with thirty years in the school district, most of which were spent as the principal at Elkhart Grade School.
