Emmanuel Lutheran Church is a Biblical, evangelical and confessional Church. What this means is that we proclaim the Bible to be the true and inerrant Word of God and Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior. This is the great news that we celebrate as we worship Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Only this celebration is not just reserved for Sunday mornings; instead, it is a lifestyle.
One truth that we dearly need to understand with our whole being is that the Christian faith is not, nor will it ever be, a religion. Instead, it is a relationship with our God that Jesus made possible through His saving work on the cross and His triumphant resurrection from the dead. If you notice, Scripture continuously speaks of love; from God's love for us, to our love for Him. It tells us how He truly is our loving Father and how you and I are His children. That is a relationship and that is the message of Scripture! Jesus has brought us into this eternal relationship, which someday we will celebrate to its fullest in Heaven. But for right now, we are to celebrate this relationship with each other and to strive to build each other up in this relationship with Christ.
That is what we are all about here at Emmanuel. It is this relationship, this love that we stress in the life of our congregation and in all our ministries and missions. May God continue to guide us as we "Build Relationships in Christ."
