A bit of history. The Church of Our Saviour was born in 1924 when a group of Episcopalians grew tired of traveling to Jersey City for worship and organized a congregation in Secaucus. They erected the church building still in use today, a prefabricated structure purchased from the Sears & Roebuck catalog. It originally stood across the street but was moved to its present site in 1953. Many changes have been made since then.
The lay leadership of the parish is in the hands of the Wardens and Vestry (or Executive Committee) who are elected by the parish membership.
We are handicapped-accessible with a wheel-chair elevator.
The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, a collection of independent national churches in communion with England's Archbishop of Canterbury. After the American Revolution, the Anglican Church in America needed its own name. "The Episcopal Church" was chosen because "episcopal" means "having bishops."
