About
The Fairfield Kiwanis Club is affiliated with Kiwanis International which is dedicated to changing the world, one child, one community at a time.
Our community of Fairfield, Iowa in Jefferson County is served by Kiwanians whose purpose is to serve the children of the community.
This is accomplished in many ways, from scholarships for graduating seniors, non-traditional student scholarships, preschool scholarships and through many other avenues.
A major program of the past two years has been to provide pediatric trauma kits to all First Responders in Jefferson County. After this was accomplished, we provided for kits for every FR group in neighboring Van Buren County, and are now working to see that every First Responder group in Southeast Iowa is so equipped.
Fairfield Kiwanis has built playgrounds and contributed to other playgrounds in Fairfield and contributes annually to various charities including, but not limited to: Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City; the local Lord’s Cupboard; helped Jefferson County Conservation Board with the purchase of a trail buggy which enables the elderly and disabled to use the county trails; Pediatric Chaplaincy program sponsored by the Iowa City Kiwanis; Christmas gifts for needy children; Boy Scouts; Girl Scouts; Camp Courageous; fencing for Community Childcare and others, Relay for Life and others.
