In addition to being a retail shop for new and vintage instruments, Famous Old Time Music is a venue for acoustic concerts, festivals, and jam sessions; it is a teaching facility focused on bluegrass and dulcimer students; it is a repair and restoration center for all things stringed; and it is home to Vernon McIntyre's Appalachian Grass band, an award winning bluegrass band led by owner Vernon McIntyre.
