Serving Cumberland County since 1974, Fayetteville Urban Ministry is a Judeo-Christian organization with interfaith partners supported by concerned individuals, the faith community, local businesses, and civic groups. Some of our programs do receive funding from private and federal grant sources.
The Mission, to show God's compassion for our neighbors in need, and thus build our community together, comes to life in our programs. Urban Ministry offers four programs: Emergency Assistance (Food and Clothing), Adult Literacy, Find-A-Friend (Mentorship for at risk youth), and the Nehemiah Project (Emergency Home Repairs for low income home owners). These programs work together to give the gift of a better life to those in need.
Volunteers are love made visible, and Fayetteville Urban Ministry would not exist without them. Each of our programs depends on volunteers and each offers unique volunteer experiences from mentoring youth, to sorting clothes, or putting together a team for home repairs. Our staff team trains volunteers for service in our programs.
Our programs are offered at no charge to our clients.
