The Fayetteville-Manlius "A Better Chance" Program is an opportunity for eight talented young minority women to develop their academic poptential at Fayetteville-Manlius High School while preparing for college. It is a challenging and rigorous four year program leading to higher education and promising professional careers for these young women. It is a home away from home, providing a safe, nurturing environment, as well as opportunities to participate in school clubs and sports, church and community events, and ABC fund raising activities.

Founded in 1974, the F-M ABC is part of the national A Better Chance, Inc. organization. F-M is one of only 24 public school communities that host ABC students. The program is self-supporting, raising all funds necessary to meet its budget from within the local community. It relies on individuals, churches and civic organizations to provide the financial support and encouragement needed to operate and maintain the program.
