History :
First Baptist Church of Davis was founded on July 17, 1947 by a group of six Davis residents and a pastor. These founding members were united in their desire for a Christ-centered church where Scriptural truth would be upheld.
The first church building was built a year later in downtown Davis. At this point, membership had grown to 55.
In 1967 the old church building was moved from its downtown location to its present site on Russell Boulevard in order to allow for the expansion of the church facilities.
Over the years, First Baptist Church's ministry has grown to include the surrounding communities of Dixon, Woodland, Winters, and through it missionaries, have touched lives around the world.
First Baptist Church has had a long history as an independent, local church. We are currently associated with the Conservative Baptist Association of America and Northern California, but all decisions about FBC are made by the local membership.
